Its no longer news that BBM was released exclusively to android phones, tablets running on android 4.0 and above operating system. As a matter of fact, originally, BBM isn’t supported on android tablets but there is a way you can still use the app on tablets running ice cream sandwich OS and above. Having this in mind, this left android gingerbread and other lower os users wondering if they will ever be able to use the much talked about messenger app on their device.
Earlier before now, i had initially set down some steps to downloading and using bbm for android 2.3 devices which is the gingerbread OS. I quite understood some people still had issues with that. Oh well, I sincerely apologize for that.
In recent news, an official bbm app for android gingerbread(2.3) is said to be in the making. No one has an exclusive date to when that will be released. However, some gurus in the xda developers forum has released a leak version of the bb messenger app which is said to work with android device running on a lower os version than 4.0 and these OS includes 2.3, 2.1 users and maybe more.
