Ever heard of Letv? No? Well it’s an online video company in China that provides streaming services to its users, kind of like Netflix. Well Letv jumped into the smartphone market sometime ago, releasing the Letv Le 1 Pro that boasted of amazing features, including Harman Kardon speakers and a 12-month subscription to the streaming service.
In Letv’s bid to thrive in the Chinese market, it has launched the Letv Le 1s, an Android 5.0 device clad in an all-metal body. The device has a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Although the Letv Le 1s is powered by Android Lollipop, it runs on a custom user interface referred to as EUI. The EUI bears a striking resemblance to iOS, this is not unusual with Chinese OEMs. Another common factor of the Letv Le 1 is that it doesn’t have an app drawer, all apps are found on the homescreen.
The Letv Le 1s runs on MediaTek’s Helio X10 Turbo octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. Internal,memory is clocked at 32GB. At the back of the device is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash capable of locking on a targets in 0.09 seconds. The Letv Le 1s also comes with an inproved USB Type-C port that allows for faster charging.
At the back of the smartphone is a fingerprint sensor of which Letv has claimed is the first fingerprint sensor with a mirror finish. The device is also powered by a 3000mAh battery.
The Letv Le 1s will cost $175 once it becomes available. No information has been released yet concerning availability in other markets, but Letv is set to expand operations in the United States.
