When you hear ‘Pepsi’, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Soft drink right? Well, that perspective might likely change in due course as the brand is looking at producing a smartphone soonest.
Although the report isn’t 100% confirmed, a number of well known sites already has it that Pepsi is apparently looking at advancing into the tech world by producing a smartphone.
Pictures has even been circulating online with a specs spreadsheet which can be considered pretty cool. Pepsi’s official weibo has also teased the phone which could pose some credibility as the report being genuine.
Looking at the specs of the phone, the device sports a 5.5 inch display with 1080p resolution, 13 megapixels back camera, runs on 1.7GHz MediaTek processor, 3000mAh battery, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, runs on android 5.1 lollipop.
The phone is expected to be called the Pepsi P1 and would likely cost around $200. No further report has been given in regards availability.
While the specs can best be described as a mid-range phone, imagine someone asks you what kinda phone you use and you say ‘Pepsi‘. Sounds awkward right?
Pepsi, as a brand, has attained a global recognition as a soft drink, guess we just have to see if the name makes the brand in the tech world or breaks it.
