Microsoft recently released quite a number of awesome devices. I mean, from the surface pro 4 to the surface book which is Microsoft’s first laptop ever produced. Of course, the new flagship devices; Lumia 950 XL and 950 where also launched.
While all of those devices were quite much premium and quite expensive, Microsoft also released a budget Lumia phone and that’s the Lumia 550 which is priced at about $140.
While the new Microsoft flagship devices run the latest windows 10 operating system out of the box, most people are quite curious to knowing when the windows 10 mobile upgrade will be available on eligible Microsoft Lumia phones.
Based on earlier reports which has been all over the internet for a while now which stated that the windows 10 mobile update will be available by November, latest report is saying something quite different.
In response to a query about when existing devices will be updated which was posted on one of Microsoft’s promo videos for the newly released flagships, a Microsoft representative replied saying:
Hi, Subhadeep. Windows 10 is available on PCs and tablets now, and while Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL ship with Windows 10 for phones, broad availability of Windows 10 on other devices, including mobile phones, will begin rolling out in December.
Following the response above, it is quite clear that the windows 10 mobile update won’t be available till December which in my opinion, doesn’t seem too good.
Apple launched its new set of smartphones as well as the iPad Pro amongst others in September. The new iPhone run iOS 9 out of the box and in same September, the iOS 9 upgrade was available for other iPhones and iPad devices.
Since these latest devices from Microsoft already run the latest windows 10 mobile update, what’s stopping them from rolling it over to other eligible devices within a short pace of time instead of having to wait till December.
