Samsung, today, has announced that it’d be launching its 256GB MicroSD card soon. Precisely in June with a price tag of $249.99 (Around N76,246 in Naira).
The 256 GB MicroSD card from Samsung features the highest capacity in it’s class, as other commercially available SD cards in the market currently has the 200GB capacity as the highest. Although a 512 GB MicroSD card by Microdia was announced last year, there has been no other news since then regarding the SD card.
Samsung 256 GB MicroSD card, also known as the EVO Plus, is made for high end smartphones and tablets with SD card support up to 256 GB. Drones, action cameras, and 360-degree video recorders can also utilize the SD cards.
The Samsung Evo Plus is a class 10 card that reads speeds of up to 95MB/s and write speeds of up to 90MB/s. Going by the capacity of the SD Card, you can conveniently store up to 23,500 MP3 files, 12 hours of 4k video, 33 hours of full HD footage.
The Samsung Evo Plus is interestingly water-resistant (IPx7- certified), temperature-proof, X-ray proof and magnetic-proof.
As earlier stated, the 256GB SD card from Samsung will be available starting June with a price tag of $249.99. It will be available around the world and of course, might take a while before it becomes available in Nigeria.
