For some months now, based on directives from the Central Bank of Nigeria, banks have been placing much emphasis on BVN which is known as Bank Verification Number.
The BVN is said to be a security measure intended at making banking system much easier across the country. The BVN serves as a customer’s unique identity number used for easy identification and verification at point of banking operations.
If you’d like to know your Bank Verification Number (BVN) anytime via your mobile phone, simply dial *565*0# using the mobile number you used in registering and creating the account. Please be aware that there’s a N10 charge whenever you choose to use this service.
If you are using Access Bank’s internet banking platform, your BVN is boldly displayed on your account dashboard when you log in using a computer. I really can’t say if it’s same for other banks though.
