Mozilla Firefox still remains my best PC browser since i refused to be bought over by Google Chrome. However, Firefox has announced it will soon end it’s browser support on windows XP and windows Vista operating systems.
Firefox users on Windows XP and Vista will be moved to the Firefox Extended support release (ESR) in March 2017.
An excerpt from the blog post by Mozilla reads thus:
Firefox is one of the few browsers that continues to support Windows XP and Vista, and we expect to continue to provide security updates for users until September 2017. Users do not need to take additional action to receive those updates. In mid-2017, user numbers on Windows XP and Vista will be reassessed and a final support end date will be announced.
Users still running windows XP and Windows Vista are advised to upgrade to Windows 8.1. Or possibly, windows 10 as soon as they can.
I personally upgraded one of my laptops from Windows Vista to windows 10 and another from Windows 8.1 to windows 10. I already published a detailed tutorial on how to upgrade to Windows 10. Hopefully, that should guide you through the process.
Although a deadline was set, there is still a way you can get windows 10. You should check out this post to find out more.
