Remember the legendary Nokia 3310? The famous and rugged handset could be making a comeback.
If you had the opportunity of using an handset in the year 2000 or there about, you would agree the Nokia 3310 experience is totally different from the current smartphones experience. By that, i am not making reference to technology but instead, durability.
I mean, I remember the old good days when an accidental drop means nothing. Unlike these days, re-branding an handset back then was as simple as buying a new phone case and fixing it there and then. No need visiting an engineer.
Back then, there were varieties of casings you could choose from. Unlike these days, there’s a limited number of color variations.
Remember space impact game? Oh dear! Anyway, according to a notorious tipster and leaker, Evan Blass, HMD Global Oy, the Finnish manufacturer which now markets phones under the Nokia brand, will be unveiling a handful of new phones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) scheduled to hold on the 26th of February, 2016.
The brand is expected to launch the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and a re-branded Nokia 3310 at the event.
Most of the expected phones will run Android Nougat under the hood. Based on the leaked report, the Nokia 6 will feature a 5.5-inch display, 4GB of RAM, and 16 MP camera.
The Nokia 5 will likely feature 5.4inch display, 2GB RAM, and a 12MP camera. The Nokia 3 will likely feature much lower specs.
New Pictures Of the Nokia 3310 Phone
Not much information has been shared about the Nokia 3310. As a matter of fact, the comeback should be taken with a pinch of salt as both Nokia and HMD has refused validating the report.
However, below are the leaked images of what the revisited Nokia 3310 handset will look like.
On price scale, the Nokia 3310 price is rumored to be around $62. Doing the maths with the current bank exchange rate, price should be around NGN 20,000.
If you ever used the Nokia 3310 handset, what’s the experience you missed?
