4 Reasons why I choose The Infinix Hot 4 over Tecno Camon C9

The Tecno Camon C9 is the brand’s latest smart phone and the infinix hot 4, on the other hand, is one of the most recent smartphones released by Infinix Mobile.

You may be having some hard time choosing which to go with between both smartphones and that’s where, this post comes to play.

Infinix hot 4 verses tecno camon c9

Just before I move to my points, let me make something clear. Most smartphones, based on usage so far, have their unique differences. However, this post particularly entails why I choose to stick with the Hot 4 over the Camon C9.

Reason To Choose The Infinix Hot 4 Over Tecno Camon C9

1. Security

The infinix Hot 4 comes out of the box with Fingerprint Scanner, while the Tecno Camon C9 comes out of the box with eye scanner.

However, as I stated in the Camon C9 review, I never really used the eye scanner feature on the device for long because it was pretty useless. The eye scanner only works basically under lightening conditions and under low light, it just doesn’t work.

More so, you would have to stare at the phone for a few seconds before it unlocks. Having to just type in the password, in my opinion, is better and maybe, faster.

The hot 4 on the other hand, features fingerprint ID which, as stated in my review, is really fast. The device unlocks in a breeze using the touch ID. I don’t literally need to type in a password every-time on the device. All I need do is place my finger on the sensor and whooze! It’s unlocked.

2. Performance

The Tecno Camon C9 is powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-core processor while the infinix Hot 4 is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad Core processor. Both devices actually feature 2GB RAM.

Going by the specs-sheet, it’s safe to say the Camon C9 ought to be faster right? I mean, the Antutu benchmark for the camon C9 is much higher than that of the hot 4. However, based on usage, the Hot 4 is actually better.

Of course, the Camon C9 can handle a bit of multitasking without lagging, not just as much as the Hot 4.

Gaming on both devices, I was able to get Mortal Kombat X game to work fluidly on the Hot 4 but up to date, i still can’t get the game to work on the Camon C9. Upon launch, it keeps displaying Mortal Kombat X not responding.

3. Operating System / UI

Both smartphones actually run Android Marshmallow OS out of the box. However, the Tecno Camon C9 is customized with the brand’s UI, HiOS, out of the box. The Infinix Hot 4, on the other hand, is customized with the brand’s new XOS.

Infinix hot 4 XOS

Personally, I’d rather choose XOS over HiOS. The HiOS in my opinion, still has a few bugs which is expected. Deleting files from the gallery folder doesn’t necessarily delete the file from the device. It’s essential you delete from the file manager every time. Other than that, the app freeze feature on HiOS is quite misleading. Thankfully, I already gave a solution to that problem HERE.

XOS on the other hand, brings some essential features to the table. You have the option to easily take screenshots via the notification menu (also available on HiOS) plus you can easily make a recording of your device screen via the notification menu as well. That’s a feature HiOS doesn’t have under the hood.

Another feature I tend to like with the XOS is its battery optimization system. XOS automatically displays apps that are consuming battery and presents you with the app to close them. Not to hide the apps like in the case of HiOS. Of course, XOS do has it flaws though.

4. Battery

You expected to see this right? Well, I didn’t disappoint ;).

The Camon C9 packs a 3000mAh battery, while the infinix hot 4 packs a 4000mAh battery. Although both devices should conveniently take you through the day under ‘normal‘ usage, the hot 4 gives you more battery life.

So, that’s it guys. As earlier stated, both smartphones have their unique differences. Perhaps, in subsequent posts, I will be giving reasons as to why the Tecno Camon C9 could be a better option over the Infinix Hot 4. But for now, am sticking with the latter :-D.
