Instagram Reaches A New Milestone Of 500 million Subscribers Worldwide

Instagram as a mobile app and as a video and photo sharing app needs no formal introduction.  The mobile app which recently got revamped with its logo streamlined to feature a modern camera and a minimalist interface, just hit a new milestone of 500 million subscribers worldwide.

Instagram now has 500 million subscribers 300 million average daily users

Not only has the app reached half a billion subscribers, the team also disclosed that from the number of subscribers, 300 million use the service everyday.

These announcements were made by the company via a blog post whose excerpt reads thus:

Today, we’re excited to announce our community has grown to more than 500 million Instagrammers — more than 300 million of whom use Instagram every single day. Our community also continues to become even more global, with more than 80 percent living outside of the United States.

As you’ve captured and shared the moments happening around you, you’ve formed incredibly varied and diverse communities. Whether you’re an illustrator, a sneakerhead or an astronaut on the International Space Station, every photo and video you share helps bring people closer to friends and interests, broadens perspectives and inspires a sense of wonder. You’ve made Instagram a place where the everyday and the epic are always within reach.

Thank you for your creativity, your openness and your passion for sharing your worlds with one another. We can’t wait to see what you create next.

It will be recalled that Instagram was bought by Facebook sometime in 2012 and since then, the app has passed through series of changes and adjustments.

Some of the most recent are the revamped designs, support for multi-accounts on android and iOS and the most recent increase for video sharing from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Are you part of the 300 million daily users? For me, No, am not.
