Welcome Netflix As The Online Streaming Media Service Launches In Africa

Netflix is one of the most popular subscription-based internet streaming media service provider. While the service is well known to a lot of people, some other seem not to know what Netflix entails. Simple put, Netflix can be likened to iRokoTV.

Well, Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings in a press conference in Las Vegas, announced that the video streaming service has been switched on in 130 new countries.

Netflix launched in Nigeria, Africa

Thankfully, the service is now available in Africa with South-Africa being the first touch of point. The service is also available in other countries including Nigeria.

According to Reed Hastings via Forbes,

“Today, I am delighted to announce that while we have been here on stage at CES, we switched Netflix in Azerbaijan, in Vietnam, in India, in Nigeria, in Poland, in Russia, in Saudi Arabia, in Singapore, in South Korea, in Turkey, in Indonesia, and in 130 new countries.”

It would be interesting to see how Netflix makes a lot of waves in Nigeria owing to the poor internet connection being experienced in most areas as well as cost of subscriptions. Anyway, MTN BIS users rocking simple server wouldn’t have much to worry about except for how to pay the subscription bills since effective from Jan 1st 2016, ATM cards have been withheld from making purchases online.

Netflix is offering one month of free streaming for new users and if you are comfortable with the service, you can device a means to paying the subscription plans.
